Manchester United suffers a humiliating defeat to Liverpool football club

Manchester United has suffered a 7-0 humiliating defeat away to Liverpool Football club at Anfield.

Manchester United went into the fixture sitting 3rd position and looking to close down on city rivals Manchester City who was sitting 2nd behind Arsenal football club.

The game was promised to be a very cagey encounter as Liverpool Football club who has recently lost form we're slowly picking up, although sitting on 7th position Liverpool were keen on bouncing back to challenge for a top four finish.

The first 45 minutes of the game ended with Liverpool leading with a lone goal courtesy a brilliant finish from Cody Gakpo. The humiliation began in the second half as Manchester United completely lost the team shape especially in midfield and defence leading to Liverpool front trio Mohammed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo each one scoring a brace. Bobby Firminho scored the 7th goal having been introduced in the latter part of the game.

This defeat is among the worst in Manchester United's history. Manchester United has recently been praised for a scintillating form they've picked leading to their Carabao cup triumph which is the club's first trophy in 7 years, so this humiliating defeat was very much unexpected.

Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United's coach reacted angrily and descended heavily on the players for losing their shape and not sticking to the game plan. The club's left back Luke Shaw also reacted by apologizing to the fans for such humiliation. He also revealed that the manager Erik Ten Hag will force them to watch the clip back as a preparation to the next game
