Who's Erik Ten Hag and what does he add to Manchester united

Eric Ten Hag is a Dutch football coach born on the 2nd of February, 1970 in the city of Haaksbergen, Netherlands.

Ten Hag started his managerial career in 2012-2013 football season with dutch based club Go Ahead Eagles. He was appointment later by Bayern Munich junior team in 2013-2015. He returned to Netherlands to coach top tier side Utrecht from 2015-2017 where he managed to qualify them for Europa league qualification round.

On the 21st December, 2017. Eric Ten Hag was appointment by Ajax Amsterdam after Marcel Keizer was sacked. Ten Hag managerial career was brought into the limelight at Ajax after he shockingly defeated Juventus and Real Madrid to qualify Ajax into the semi final stage of the champions league 2018-2019 season. He was stopped by Tottenham Hotspur and Lucas Moura second leg hat trick at Johan Cruyff arena in Amsterdam.

Johan Cruyff as a manager has played a total of 432 matches at 4 different teams winning 277, drawing 73 and with 82 losses. Erik Ten Hag's teams has managed to score 1,006, conceding 418. Ten Hag as a manager has 64.12% win rate which is a very impressive statistics for any modern coach. Erik Ten Hag has won two Eredevisie titles and two dutch cup trophies and a Johan Cruyff shield with Ajax Amsterdam. Ten Hag has also won the Rinus Michel's award in 2016 and was also ranked the 4th best European coach in 2019.

Ajax the impressive and perfect dominance by Erik Ten Hag in the dutch Eredevisie, a lot of pundits tipped him to move away from the dutch league which he has established as his comfort zone. A lot of teams from the German bundesliga and the English premier league began a chase for this great manager. On of these teams is Manchester united. Manchester united is a Manchester based club owned by the Glazer family. Manchester united is the arguably best club in the English premier league and England as a whole with Liverpool football club coming close to their dominance. After the departure of Manchester united's greatest manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the club has struggled to find their feet in England and Europe in terms of winning trophies. A lot of managers since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson has passed through Manchester united with little or no success. Managers like Louis Van Gaal, David Moise, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and current interim manager Ralph Rangnick who is set to become technical adviser next season with the arrival of Erik Ten Hag. Manchester united has only managed a single trophy in the last six seasons which is quite disgraceful for a club of caliber of Manchester united

The question a lot of football pundits around the world ask about Manchester united is what they really need?, The answer quite straightforward is rebuilding. This should have taken place just after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson but it's not too late as it's obvious that Erik Ten Hag will be leading the task of rebuilding

Manchester united's performance this season has been really bad this season which led to the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer mid season after series of bad performances. German coach Ralph Rangnick was appointed as interim manager to lead the club finish the season before a new coach will be announced. The performance of the team under Ralph Rangnick has also been on and off which has seen the club battling to secure a champions league position. A lot of players are set to leave the club next season. Among this players includes Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Paul Pogba and others.

Reportedly, a budget of 200m£ will be made available for the new manager to make new recruitment into the Manchester united setup. At Ajax, Erik Ten Hag is known to be a manager who likes to work with young players and this has placed the faith of older player's at Manchester united in danger. The club is reportedly monitoring closely a couple of players recommended by the new coach. Christopher Nkunku is a winger at Leipzig, he's been monitored by the club as well as Julien Timber, Ajax's center back.

With Ten Hag announced as coach, a lot of twists and turns is set to unfold at the club in the coming days. Many football fans and pundits believes that with a perfect budget and patience, Manchester united will be back to being the great club known in football history
